Traditions and the latest trends in tourism

Parade with agricultural carts and participants in traditional costumes

We all have noticed it by now: the sun is setting earlier and earlier every night and in the mornings a light fog is hovering over the lake. It is quite obvious that it will not be long until autumn will be here in its full colourful magnitude. And it is now that the region remembers its roots more than anytime throughout the year. At the Autumn Farmer's Fair, Pinzgau's most delicious specialities and most beautiful customs lure visitors to Zell's town square all through September. And before long, Kaprun is celebrating its 5th Cheese Festival.

An amazing sporting highlight is already casting its shadow, too: at the 11th Schmitten Downhill Golf Championship on 11th September amateurs and professionals in golf are competing against each other at nine holes from the mountain station of Schmittenhöhe cable cars up to Areitalm inn. It can be assumed that not only the prospect of winning the competition but of enjoying the breathtaking view of the Alpine panorama will prompt many athletes to participate. Are you among them?

On the same weekend, time-honoured Kaprun Castle is the venue for a special kind of event. At the Castlecamp, tourism experts from Austria, Germany, and Switzerland will be discussing the latest trends and developments in the industry. Instead of setting up a programme in advance, participants will agree on the topics they want to treat on location. Informative workshops and animated discussions can be taken for granted again.
